Why people join our team
Creation Africa Foundry is built around African makers and the people who help their work travel well, arrive safely and reach the right customer. We work with textiles, ceramics and artisan goods, so every day asks for attention to detail, good judgement and respect for the story behind each piece.
Our team is based in Maboneng, Johannesburg and supports customers in Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria, Gqeberha and overseas. That means we need people who can handle stock checks, courier timing and customer requests with calm focus, even when load-shedding affects office routines or a shipment needs extra care.
Roles we hire for
We look for people across operations, maker relations, merchandising and customer service. Depending on the season, we may need support in sourcing, export packing, collection handling, product writing and order coordination. Experience with handmade or retail goods is useful, though attitude and reliability matter just as much.
- Marketplace operations and order support
- Maker partnerships and sourcing
- Export, courier and packing coordination
- Customer experience and after-sales care
- Merchandising, seasonal editing and gift curation
- Content, provenance notes and product copy
What good candidates bring
We look for people who can work neatly, keep records in order and communicate clearly with makers, customers and delivery partners. If you can move between spreadsheets, packing tables and customer messages without losing focus, you may fit in well. A practical mindset helps too, especially when handling fragile ceramics or mixed-volume orders.
- Good written and spoken English
- Comfort with basic systems, stock counts and admin
- Respect for artisan work and cultural detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn local and export requirements
We value people who notice the small things, from a label that needs correcting to a parcel that needs stronger packing before it leaves the building. That habit saves time and it protects the work we handle.
How work moves in our space
Our days are shaped by collections, customer orders and the practical needs of shipping across South Africa and abroad. Some roles sit close to the makers and some sit close to the customer journey, but all of them support the same goal: getting beautiful handmade goods to the right place without damage or delay.
Depending on your role, you may help prepare gift packs for hospitality clients, check courier cut-offs, plan bulk orders or update provenance cards. We also work with seasonal changes, so there can be busier periods around holidays, trade requests and special purchases.
How to apply
To apply, send your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page and tell us which type of role suits your experience. If you have worked with handmade products, export orders, retail operations or customer care, include a short note on that too. Keep your details current so we can reach you when an opening matches your profile.
If you are interested in a future role rather than a current opening, you may still send your CV. We keep strong applications on file and review them when the right work comes up, especially for people who understand coordination, care and clear communication.
A workplace grounded in care
We want people who understand that handmade goods deserve careful handling from the first conversation to the final delivery. That applies to the work we do with makers across the continent and the service we give to customers in South Africa and abroad. It also means showing up prepared, taking responsibility and working as part of a small team that depends on trust.
If that sounds like your way of working, we would like to hear from you. Send your CV through the enquiry form and let us know where your strengths lie.
